Cruise Parking at Long Beach and San Pedro: A Guide to Both LA Ports
Updated: Sep 30

Updated September 30, 2026 · Parking rates and availability can change. Check the operator before travel.
The first parking decision is the most important one: which cruise terminal is on your ticket? Long Beach and the Los Angeles World Cruise Center in San Pedro are separate ports. Putting the wrong one into your map can send you to the wrong side of the harbor.
Compare the two ports at a glance
At a glance | Long Beach | San Pedro |
|---|---|---|
Main parking | Terminal garage beside the Queen Mary | World Cruise Center surface lots |
Published standard rate | $23/day on Visit Long Beach; verify before travel | $23 posted; 2026 tariff lists $24. Confirm with operator. |
Vehicle clearance | 7-foot garage limit; no vehicles using multiple spaces | No height restriction at World Cruise Center; oversized rates apply |
Transfer | Walk from the terminal garage | Walk or terminal courtesy shuttle on ship days |
Good starting choice | Convenient on-site parking | Convenient on-site parking |
My take: parking is one piece of the trip. Choosing the right ship, cabin, hotel and arrival plan together can make the whole cruise easier.

Parking at the Long Beach Cruise Terminal

Long Beach Cruise Terminal: look for the dome and Queen Mary area.
Long Beach is the terminal next to the Queen Mary. The on-site parking structure is the simplest choice when you want to unload your car and walk to check-in without coordinating a shuttle. It is especially convenient for families and travelers with several bags.
Destination: Long Beach Cruise Terminal parking garage, near the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
Published daily rate: $23 on the Visit Long Beach terminal page; check again before your sailing.
Garage clearance: 7 feet. Vehicles taking more than one space cannot use the garage.
Allow extra time if the garage is full or you are directed to overflow parking. Follow the directions in your cruise documents and signs at the terminal.
Do not assume the Queen Mary's visitor or hotel lot permits parking for an entire cruise. Its parking rules and event arrangements are separate from the cruise terminal garage. If you book a hotel or off-site lot, confirm in writing how many cruise nights are covered, whether a shuttle runs both ways, and any extra transport cost.

Parking at the Los Angeles World Cruise Center in San Pedro

San Pedro World Cruise Center: a separate terminal with surface parking.
For the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal, enter 100 Swinford Street, San Pedro, CA 90731. From Harbor Boulevard, turn onto Swinford Street and veer right for cruise passenger parking. The Port also identifies parking near Battleship IOWA at Berth 87 and the Catalina Sea and Air Terminal at Berth 95 as cruise parking or overflow options. Follow the signs and any instructions for your ship.
The World Cruise Center lot is open 24/7 and is pay upon exit; the operator says there is no in-and-out access.
The first hour is free, then the posted hourly charge is $2 until the daily maximum.
The Port and Parking Concepts pages currently say $23 per day for a standard vehicle; the Port's tariff notice lists a $24 maximum effective January 1, 2026. Budget for the higher figure and confirm with Parking Concepts at (310) 547-4357.
The Port lists a $40 daily maximum for oversized vehicles. The World Cruise Center lot operator says its surface lot has no height restriction.
On scheduled ship days, a courtesy shuttle operates within the cruise terminal area. If your party has heavy luggage or limited mobility, consider dropping passengers and bags at the terminal before the driver parks.
Parking Concepts operates the secured overnight cruise lots. You can review the Port of Los Angeles parking directions and the World Cruise Center lot details before you go.

Stay-and-park hotel packages
Driving in the day before? Compare a named cruise package with a regular room plus terminal parking. A standard hotel reservation does not automatically include extended cruise parking.
Hotel / package | Port served | Published inclusions |
|---|---|---|
Long Beach | 1-night stay + up to 7 nights of parking + round-trip port transportation | |
San Pedro | 1-night stay + breakfast for up to 2 + up to 7 days of parking; shuttle subject to availability |
Before booking: confirm the correct terminal, extra parking nights, passenger limits and your return pickup. Package prices and availability vary by date.
Off-site parking listings: Long Beach
These Long Beach listings require your own ride to and from the ship. For San Pedro, I have not independently vetted a standalone off-site lot well enough to recommend one. The World Cruise Center lot is the straightforward parking choice; if you arrive the night before, compare the DoubleTree hotel package above and confirm its current terms directly with the hotel.
Listing | Cruise port | Transportation / vehicle notes |
|---|---|---|
Long Beach | Indoor lot; no transportation provided | |
Long Beach | Indoor lot; no transportation; listing excludes trucks, vans and SUVs |
Check the final price, taxes and booking fees, vehicle rules, cancellation terms and lot hours. Save the exact address and reservation instructions.
Compare the full cost: off-site parking + fees + rides in BOTH directions. For a hotel package, include the room price, taxes and any extra parking nights.
Which parking choice makes sense for you?
Short cruise and lots of luggage: On-site parking is often worth the convenience.
Longer cruise: Multiply the daily rate by the full time your car will be parked, then compare off-site parking plus rideshare or shuttle costs.
Driving in the day before: Ask hotels for an actual park-and-cruise quote, the number of nights included, and transport to and from your specific terminal.
Tall vehicle: Check Long Beach's 7-foot garage limit; San Pedro's surface lot may be simpler, but confirm the oversized rate and space requirements.
Flying in: Compare airport-to-port transfers and rideshare instead of paying to leave a rental car parked for the trip.
Three checks before you leave home
Read the exact port and terminal in your cruise documents. 'Los Angeles' and 'Long Beach' are not interchangeable.
Check the parking operator's latest rate and directions. Save the page or phone number in case your plans change.
Keep your parking ticket and note your level or row. Leave passports, medication and other essentials in your carry-on, not in the parked car.

Frequently asked questions
Can I park at the Queen Mary for a Carnival cruise?
Queen Mary visitor and hotel parking is a separate product. Do not leave a car there for a cruise unless your specific reservation explicitly includes long-term cruise parking. The Long Beach terminal garage is the straightforward on-site choice.
Do I need to reserve parking in San Pedro?
The LA Waterfront cruise FAQ says reservations are not required for the World Cruise Center lots. Check the operator before sailing for any change and allow time for traffic on busy ship days.
Are Long Beach and San Pedro the same cruise port?
No. Long Beach's terminal is beside the Queen Mary. The Los Angeles World Cruise Center is in San Pedro at 100 Swinford Street. Check your cruise line's arrival instructions instead of navigating by the city name alone.
